Anybody used a Pertronix distributor and/or coil? Their headquarters is about two blocks away and I've been talkin to them about displaying my car at their booth at local shows if they chip in with their products. Beautiful lookin stuff. the distributor body is polished with a black cap, the coil has a chrome case with black top, and the plug wires are black. Perfect lookin for my car. Chrome & black. These are also the guys who bought Doug's Headers.

The coils are crap. I've been through 2 with same problem. Puff up, leak oil from the terminal posts, breakdown and cut out - in less than 1k miles. Others on another site have experienced exactly the same problem.
I'm X38 on any other sites. [ View ] [ Email ] [ Blogs ] [ Car Ads ] Sydney, Australia

if they have the resistor built in they are junk no matter who makes them. you leave the key on for 60 sec and they'll pop. i use unilite and a standard coil.

Thanks for the input guys. Got your E-mail Don. These guys made me an offer and I wanted to check things out before I made any kind of decision. Nice lookin product, but that won't count for much on the side of the road will it.

If they want your car for a display and for company advertising they should just give you the stuff FREE. A friend of mine used to get all kinds of free products just for displaying them on his cars and motorcyles and anwsering questions when asked. He never paid for nothing.

orphans: That was the idea, but if it's junk, I don't want it. Sounds like at least the coils aren't any good.
