In the state of NY they didnt have a title they only had a registration up till 1973 so most states you take the registration and a letter from NY dmv explaining they didnt have titles till after 1973 and send it to your dmv they will give you a title because in the state of NY tha registration was the same as a title it was the only form of ounership you have for the car check with your DMV
For title stuff most of the guys call Jimmothershead otherwise known as Jim at 410 535 1933

The problem that I had with an older registration like the one for sale on EBAY is that it is not in the NYState computer and they do not like to accept it for a current registration. I had to jump through all kinds of hoops and complete some BS forms to get the registration accepted.
If a person from New York came here to Maryland and purchased a original 1932 Ford coupe from the original 92 year owner with the A title, took it to NY DMV, he would get a registration only. On the face will be the new owner, address, vehicle description and VIN. On the back is a clear transfer of ownership. In all 50 States behind the DMV counter, there MUST be a Polk Book.....it might have 5 coffee cups on it, but it is there. The Polk has been published since 1939. It shows a pic of every type of title printed in the US of A. California has a "Pink Slip" much like the NY reggie.....both will be in the Polk. A 11 year old Corvette in Alabama is sold on a bill of sale..

Tim.......'32 Ford ?? Or some other antique vehicle?? So you found it in a barn in Syracuse. Owner parked it in 1955. You gave him your hard earned $200, he signed the back side and you completed as buyer. If no obliterations, NY DMV will accept. Your DMV clerk must have bee 18, first day on the job.
