I am looking at a 39 Pontiac tudor and wondering if anything transfers over to it from 1939 Chevy tudor engine swap kits such as Chassis Engineering? Later year Pontiacs + Chevy's are very simular and parts interchange. So I got to wondering about 1939 GM's B4 I get too serious about the Pontiac.

Pontiac made two cars. a small and a large version. If the one you are looking at has the same window shape and size as the Chevy it's the smaller one and YES everything except the dog house is the same. The larger car looks similar but the glass area is larger and more squared. Also the car is about 4 inches wider at the cowl than the smaller unit.

OOOPPSS That is NOT a 1939 it's a 1938 and nothing will interchange with its sister Chevy I have a manaul ans will look up numbers for you tommorrow. But I'm 99% sure it's a '38 The front frame is completely different if my memory is intact. I built a couple of them years ago but I put a Nova clip in at that time. Check the front suspension and let me know if its an independant or an axle

Yes, you are right , its a 38, I think I'll pass, He wants about a grand and has a running 6, but info on rodding these is hard to find, not to mention parts like running boards + headlights etc.

I have a 39 pontiac. If you want to know if you have the Small or Large body style check the Model # on the plate on the firewall. Model 25 is the small Chevy style and long wheel base, Model #26 (six cyl.) / Model #28 (8 cyl.) The suspension from 37 to 39 are the same. Most but not all parts on the body on the model 25 will fit. I have a model 26 and been using the stock rebuilt suspension for 12 years. Front suspension is NOS lever action shocks, dropped Fat Man uprights, and a power rack from a 95 Chevy Caviler and stock rear leaf springs ( I removed two intermediate leafs and 1 1/2" lowering blocks) with 78 nova rear end. The car rides and drives great. If I had to do it again I might go with an aftermarket front suspension just to save time an effort. Hope this info helps.
