I have been on the Krist Kustoms web page looking at their seats and they are very nice, a little pricey but nice. I have also been looking though the seat pages of this site and have found some very usefull information, as i always do. ...It seems to me I have been reading more and more articles with guys trying to find the best way to go in this area. Junk yard seats or high priced seats already upholstered. I was think we need to get a discussion going to see which route is the best route. I do know the middle seat of the dodge caravan works wel in a lot of applications because of the narrow width. Any one who can add to this concern, jump right in.

Frank.......That A needs a narrow seat, about 18" in front. I use Fiero, 80s Mazda coupe, Honda Civic coupe. Measure first. Allow for squash and door panel upholstery.
See you at Nats East.
Have fun.

Should we say junkyard or Auto Recycling Facility.

I say find the ones that work best for your needs. You can put them in, modify them if you need to, have them upholstered with the rest of the car. I would have to think some material has certin die lots. they will be the same that way. I'm an old junkyard dog anyway, have been since I was a kid, if I can remember back that far. It's nice to buy every thing in shrink wrap if you can but I don't see why. If you do a little scrounging you can come up with some neat stuff.

Personally i prefer a bench to buckets. in the Deuce i have used a seat from a Chevy Astro van. It was the middle one with the fold down drink holder and split backs. I took it apart and narrowed the bottom the width of the drink holder, about 10", then i put the upholstery back on and tucked it in where it had been cut. When I have the seat professionally covered I will take out the outside arm rests.

seats are one area that I think lots of cars miss the mark, I was lucky to have the original seat to work with because I would have a real hard time installing a Van or Toyota seat in my car. Glad I did not have to make the decission you have.

The nice part about using car seats from a wrecking yard is most have head rests and some have seat belts built into the seat. I have two cavalier buckets in my coupe now, but I really need to up date.

I think the bench seat in a Model A is nice because it is nastalgic. Try to keep the car close to the way henry made it in 1930 but with modern day peices.

I just finished putting 06 chevy uplander second row captain chairs in my 30 coupe. Got them out of a salvage yard for $300. They measure 19" after removing the inside arm rest. Color will dictate color of interior and you'll have to fabricate new seat bases, but they look great.

Ford ranger bench seats will fit ,if bench is the way tou want to go. you have to trim the seat at the door panels a bit to keep from crushing the the seat with the door.
