Why not a C-4? This is the proven set-up. Think the 400 would take too much power away from the flattie, Plus the C-4 is smaller and lighter, And complete kits to make the swap. Just my thoughts. I have a friend who has a 32 B-400 with a later flattie and C-4. Runs nice and he loves it.

I've only seen the C-4 set up with a flat head. Not saying the 400 couldn't be done, just never have seen it.

Bill ...that antiquated TH400 eats HP. Any one make a 700R-4 adapter?

Say hi to Charlie Holsclaw and Jerry Burge for me.

Here you can get C4, TH350 and Powerglide coversions. Best of all though is the Toyota overdrive 4 speed, no computer. It's small, strong, simple and the Flattie loves the rpm drop at freeway speeds. Some of you may remember I put one in a RPU a couple of years back and posted pix. All kits are from the same souce, take a look at Flatattack Racing (sorry you'll have to google it). They have US distribution for all their flattie stuff. He's Mike Davidson, the guy who's published several flathead building books.

And that 400 will suck way too much power.

mid/late 80's Crowns and Cressida's I think. They sometimes call cars different names in different markets, but it was their bigger sedans. Had an electric overdrive switch with a button on the shiter T-handle. I'll dig out pix - just have to find them.
