Juliano's has a very nice top kit for coupes. They give deatailed instructions to install, seems pretty easy. I was wondering if anyone has done one of these tops and might have a few good pointers. It does say to install 1/2 inch outside original top, was wondering about that and is it ok to install after paint or should the aluminum trim ring be drilled first, taken off and then paint car?

I put one on mine years ago. You do it just like they tell you and you will have no problem. It was fun to it once and have it come out the way it is suppose to. I would recomend it to anyone. I would say you could do it eather way, just be carfull on finished paint. They will be able to tell you the best way.

As previously stated Julianos is the only way to go. Someone with less then an average amount of manual dexterity would have no trouble installing one.

I used Juliano's kit for my 1933 Plymouth 2 door sedan. It was time consuming. You MUST follow the directions (i.e. drilling holes as specified, or else. I would do the job before paint.

Also, when installing the final trim around the aluminum trach cut it long, it will shrink in the heat.

I have one final question. There is a chrome trim peice that goes across the top just behind the visor. I would think you would not want to run the top track up against that trim but have the vinyl go under it. Can you tack or staple this part of the vinyl and install the trim over it or what.?
