Found it on the front seat of the pickup I just bought. Is this an old Corvette AM radio? I'm thinking it might be just because of the position of the knobs, but I don't really know. It's old, that's for sure! Just want to know what it's from so I can list it properly on eBay... if it's worth anything at all.

I would go to a few corvette sites and see what they have as replacement radios. I thought corvette radios had the name on the face. Could be wrong though!........CR

I don't think thats a corvette radio. The one in my midyear sits in the dash similar to that although the control knobs are on the top not the bottom. Looks like its from a much older car than 53'

It looks like a 49-50 Chevy passenger car radio. Should sell on that auction site.

No reason to keep it, have plenty of ways to keep warm already. :

Dave, send me cash and we have a deal!

Bear, Windex may not only clean it up, but also take care of it's sore elbow too!

From the script on the tuner window, I was almost wondering if it was a Plymouth/Chrysler unit.

Oh man Karl, you are right on the money! Thanks to both you and Shine. Checking eBay indicates that there is NO market for these suckers, just like Shine said. I may get more enjoyment taking it to the shooting range... but couldn't bring myself to do that.

Thanks Big Al, I've emailed them asking if they're interested in it for a core. I Google'd a few others and asked if there's any need. Maybe I'll find someone DYING for one and recoup my costs in the truck, LOL.

Eric, I can't ID that radio, but there used to be a guy in TX that did radio conversions from AM, 6 volt, etc. to AM/FM 12 volt. I don't have a website but his email address is radiomantexas@aol.com. I'm not sure if he's still in business, but if he is he might be able to do a conversion. That radio's way cool looking for a rod.

Definately not a early Vette. Put it on Ebay for 99 cents. You can flat rate ship it for $8.95 to 50 States. Use better pic. Good luck.

Hey Ron, that's exactly what I did! I searched through eBay adds for 49-50 Chevy cars to verify, and that's exactly what it is. Somehow I missed the one you posted, must be a new listing. Thanks.

I sold some old radios at Super Chevy in July. However since you probably don't want to make the trip to Indy over a radio I would say sell it off unless you need it for Victoria's Ride.

That's a AM radio out of a '50 chevy deluxe. Had one in my first car years ago.
