Ron(whipsold)

Tryin to stay with the 60's theme

Not many roadsters had 2 tone's in the 50's & 60's

at least not on the west coast.

Don, personally, I like black w/lipstick red interior. My pinstripe guy said he'd mix paint to match my interior if I'd let him put some royal blue along with it. I almost said no, but it looks great IMHO. They had pinstripes back in the 50's and 60's didn't they? What about some A/R torque thrust gray centers, I got a set ....20's and 18's...make you a great price on them! The inspector....just tryin' to make it to the nats in Knoxville this weekend!

37Tin --Yep Ur right about the black.
Most people think that black is black ---WRONG
There is Pitch black, brown black and Blue black.
dwininspector21- Dave - Yup --they had pinstripes in the 60's -
guys like "Von Dutch" - "Rembrant" - "Shakey Jake" - " Wild Bill "
Don't think they had 18's & 20's back in the day though.
but what do ya want for em - can always use in inventory

Black-Black with pea nut interior - steelies and with baby moons and you are lookin' good. Great to talk to you a minute ago. Come East and South when you can and we will cook some mash or something. Have a great day my friend. And, as I told you -my little '36 is finally home.

Don, I like your thoughts on your color choices. Black - Oraange - PB. Should look really sharp. Have a friend who has a T that he recently finished (11/07) that is black - gold wheels - and PB color interior. His car is very sharp - especially with the gold steel wheels, so my thinking is that a 32 roadster dressed in the colors you've chosen will be even better.

How about Gun-metal black, dark dark grey leather with slightly lighter silver inserts (snake or something like your best cowboy boot), dark grey American Wheels, dash with nickel gauges from Autometer and nickel plated items where you would normally find chrome? And a very mild silver pinstripe "a la Big Daddy Roth" on the dash, and trunk. Mainstream enough to sell but enough off mainstream to reak of luxury, commanding a premium price. Another choice on the wheels would be kidney bean Halibrands.

Yo Don, I'm still stuck on what I told ya about a year ago! Washington Blue body, pale yellow steelies, pale yellow grill (I know you hate that!), and distressed leather interior. Your retro build style would make that a KILLER combo! Slide some nice traditional pinstripes in there, in a neat contrasting color.

Ok Don, in '62 I was just a young pup pumping gas at My pop's Sunoco Station. Watching all the racers come in to buy that good ol 260 high test, on their way out to Cayuga Dragway every Sunday morning. That is when i became corrupted. i still think steelies will work best, dark blue/black body with powder blue wheels, small trim rings and caps. Keep it timeless. it will have a bigger audience.

Red always sells (dard red, medium red, bright red, tan or white interior) at least on the east coast. I know people here that are changing their rides from a dark color to a brighter one. Just my observation.

Good choices, I am partial to black myself, but has to be a chevy motor. I know everyone says a ford in a ford, But if you know how to make chevys run hard, stay with the chevy. I know I did. I never built a ford motor in my life. I think my heart might stop, Heartbeat get it!! Den
