I am looking to put a tilt/telescopic column in my '41 Chev. Wondering if any one knows of a good donor vehicle maybe some caddy or olds?
Thanks in advance

I can understand if you don't want something shiny- have you checked out Ididit or Flaming River? Personally I will not mess with trying to make a column work again. Mine even came out of the same donor car but after all that hard work it had a weird noise and wiring issues.

I have a early to mid 80's Caddy column in my '38. It's been on the road for 17 years, only had to replace turn signal cam about a year and a half ago. Only real problem with the factory columns is covering up the mount and all the wiring to look decent.
If you want to stay with a chrome deco look, check out an early 60's Caddy. They have tilt and telescoping, both with lots of chrome. Most people don't know that you can twist the ring around the horn button on the Caddy and the column will telescope. These look great in 55-59 Chevy pickups too. Another setup you might think of is an early 60s-late 50's Oldsmobile column and wheel. The wheels are great because they sink way down in the center to meet the column. Different look than any other wheel out there. Both of these can still be found in the right junkyards, you just have to look. Next time you are at a car event, check them out in a stock car. Another strange one, that no one pays attention to, is the late 50's-early 60's Chrysler wheels. A lot of them were square and could cause a double take look in your car. Happy hunting. (Or you could just buy a shiney columm like everyone else)
