My daughter (19) came home last night telling me she wanted me to look at a truck to buy. I asked what it was. The answer was a 66 Chevy that had been redone. So, we went and looked at it last night, and of course it is going to follow us home. I almost fell over when she said, I like going to cruise nights, shows, etc. and I want my own so that I can drive my own! I always knew hot rodding was a disease and you can't get rid of it, but I didn't know it was inherited. I can't hardly wait till we go cruising and we both pull in together. Of course I'm sure I will have to buy dinner:-) She is already talking about taking it to Good Guys in Columbus!

Congratulations Jeff, you have a beautiful hot rodder! What a proud Dad you must be. My son just crossed over this year (10 years old) I thought I had lost him to the tuner generation but he caught the disease and is anxious to attend the shows!!! Tell your daughter she needs a user name on StreetRodding.com to go with her truck!

Jeff, I've got seven kids. the first six don't care anything about cars. My last hope is the little guy. Hopefully he will inherit my passion for cars. Pray for Me!!!!!! Congradulations to you, Enjoy.

Congratulations. Neither of my kids give a hoot or a holler about old cars. In fact my 21 yr old son told me his dream car is a Saab. A Saab for the sake of jesus! I could have forgiven him if he said a Dodge or even a Ford, but no a Saab :-(

Jeff, it is a fantastic feeling having your kids attend a car show with you. To have her own truck will be extra cool. My two daughter's both dragged home old cars to play with years ago. I have been smiling ever since.

Congratulations and make sure to warn her that it is a lifelong disease.

I am also blessed with a 16 year old daughter that likes to "hang" with her dad at car shows. She'e even helped me with some blocking on the 32 and holding some parts.We try to make Springfield,Mo every year and are gonna try to make Springfield Il this year too. But now that she has her license,she wants to drive it too! Does a pretty good job,but I'm with her when she's drivng the rod!

You guys are lucky!!! I have a 18 year old daughter. She likes to go to shows, but she has had a 67 Mustang convertable 289 automatic since she was 10. Oh yeah, she said she would not drive it so I never painted it!! PAINT is ALL it needs.

That's so cool. I got my passion from my dad, but we don't have any kids to pass it on to. I have; however, hijacked a 14 year old neighborhood kid who spends all his spare time in my garage helpin me. All the neighbor kids like lookin at what I'm doin, but this kid wants to help and I've taken him to a couple car shows. He says his dad isn't interested, but he wants to build his own hot rod.

Reminds me of the last Indian movie Robert, good for you. You may keep this kid out of trouble in the future...maybe not out of speeding tickets but serious trouble probably!

Hey 29 Robert, hang on to that kid. That was me growing up. My dad had no interest in cars but I did. A guy down the street had a garage and a hot rod. I spent all my time there. He got my passion for cars going! You have the opportunity to do the same thing!!
