51 Chevy Pickup Whats it worth?

I've found aan above average 51 3/4 ton with a 7.5 foot bed. It has a little bondo and a little rust all easy fixes. The bed is very good fenders all solid. Drive train is original.. I would like to own the truck but its local and I don't want to insult the owner. I'm thinkin 750 to 1250. Any suggestions. Located in central Illinois.

The 51 is home. $900 and a tow to the country. Now I have to finish the Olds.
