Motorbooks newest titles that I thought readers of Streetrodding.com would find really interesting: Ford Model T: The Car That Put the World on Wheels by Lindsay Brooke Written in cooperation with The Henry Ford Museum, this book is unlike any other in the marketplace. Containing hundreds of period photographs from The Benson Ford Archive, the book focuses on what the car was (and still is) like to own and operate. From the introduction of the Model T to the success in the racing world to the early platform for pioneering hot rodders to a modern snapshot of this automobile in its second century… this book has it all! With the 100th Anniversary of the Model T happening this year, a review of this book couldn’t be better timing! Legendary Custom Cars and Hot Rods of Gene Winfield is written by David Grant, a man that met Winfield in 1973 at the age of 14 and worked closely with him throughout his pioneering career in customization. The book is filled with images from Winfield’s personal collection; black and white photos from his early days working behind his mother’s house in the converted chicken too, color transparencies from professional photographers and original prints from film and television. Many of these photographs have never been published before. As you probably know, the story of Gene Winfield is one of the most interesting in automotive history. He was a young California kid, transplanted from Missouri and totally in love with all things mechanical. Basically self-taught, he used the automobile as his way to express himself as the United States was about to enter World War II. I hope you enjoy the books and agree that your audience would find them interesting. If you are able to help us spread the word about them, we would be very appreciative. I can provide any of the following to help make this an easy process for you: High resolution internal images (pending copyright approval) High resolution cover images Access to the author for interview Chapter excerpt Book to giveaway to a lucky audience member Please let me know if you plan to review the books and I appreciate your consideration in advance.
