A rough retail value estimate, including the value of in house labor, $70,000 to $75,000. The latter allowing for variables and those damn surprises one always encounters with an old body and chassis. Parts are never cheap but none the less rarely amount to more than 1/3rd of total cost. In house and outsourced labor is always the killer.
And when you have it on the road, some guy in a parking lot at the grocery store thinks he is doing you a big favor by offering you $5000-$6000 for that old truck. I always ask them which part they would like to buy. They never understand...
I'll tell ya what shine.... we've got over 50k in parts in my brothers 50 Ford, and that's with some major "call in a favor" discounts. What kills ya is all the last minute goodies and stuff....know what I mean? BTW cool truck!
