How much wholesale for the builder? Or retail to the buyer?

I'd guess you have a good $28K in parts with this truck, wholesale these parts would be over $40K. Am I close?

A rough retail value estimate, including the value of in house labor, $70,000 to $75,000. The latter allowing for variables and those damn surprises one always encounters with an old body and chassis. Parts are never cheap but none the less rarely amount to more than 1/3rd of total cost. In house and outsourced labor is always the killer.

A one time build I'm guessing $42,000 to $47,000. This is taking into consideration parts that were laying around in the shop and used in the build.

And when you have it on the road, some guy in a parking lot at the grocery store thinks he is doing you a big favor by offering you $5000-$6000 for that old truck. I always ask them which part they would like to buy. They never understand...
