I am getting ready to paint the front fender on my 32 Ford 2dr sedan. I repaired a dent and I am the point of painting the fender. I have sanded it and at different points I have sanded thru the existing paint into the primer. My question is, do I reprime the entire fender and then shoot the color or can I just shoot the color over the fender. If I need to reprime the entire fender, do I lightly sand and then shoot the color? The paint color is Dark Cloisonne Met Blue. I believe it has a light grey primer underneath. The paint on the car is about 10 years old, is there some way to add 10 years to the paint when it is mixed.

i would spot prime with a grey primer. get the spot covered then sand smooth and blend the spot into the blue then clear it. keep the repair as small as you can by wet sanding the primer spot down and cleaning up the edges.
