Hey guys I have a 1960's 350 chevy eng. with a 140 series street blower. After driving awhile it starts to bogg and then shutsdown, it acts like it runs out of gas, or like a vapor lock. I checked the gas tank for dirt and installed a new fuel filter and all new fuel lines, but have not changed the fuel pump, this has only happened a couple of times last summer when the weather was hot. If you let the car sit for awhile it will start up like nothing happend. So what do you think might be wrong?

If it only happens a few times and those times are when it is hot then you may be onto something with the vapor lock statement. I made a fuel line cooler back in my racing days to keep the fuel cool in the summer. Is the engine running warm?

Do you have the fuel tank vented properly if its an aftermarket style, what about an eec valve for the tank to the vented cap? Another thought- Is it an electric fuel pump getting to hot/ such as a relay or circuit breaker tripping out, I have had that happen, its a pain to guess when it will go off.
