ebay is a place where the sharks inflate the price of their rides. They get their buddies to pump up the price by bidding and dump it on some unsuspecting person. BEWARE OF BIDDING UNLESS YOU SPEND THE MONEY AND GO SEE WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON.. E=bay and Barret-Jackson are responsible for inflating the prices of these cars to where the average guy cannot afford to participate in the sport.
I have bought 12 classic, rods, pickups and never seen one until I recieve it.My wife keeps telling me one day you will get burned. As a matter of fact I am bidding on two El Caminos now.Only had one bad experence and that was with transporter who had junk for truck and keep breaking down and took over 2 months to recieve a pickup.I found a honest trucker and now only use him plus his prices are better.I know what vehicle is worth and I bid according to leave me room for few dollars to resale. Most of time I will bid one time and if outbid then move on.Good luck to all since there is chance of getting burned.
Hey, Bryant........I am up to about 150 deals. 101 on the feedback. Most of my sales has been old stuff that is collectible. Shelf cloggers. Just bought a new 15 foot USB printer cable my new printer-scanner-copier....paid 2 cents plus $3.95 to for S&H. Office Depot wanted $49.95 plus $3 tax. I would never buy any vehicle unless I can kiss the hood. Catch the auction early then check it in the flesh. Most bidders want to buy thru Pay Pal, safe and quick. But Pay Pal does get a cut just like Ebay. I start most of my junk at 99 cents, no reserve, flat shipping. I did under estimate shipping on 14 teak boat items last Spring......loss my butt. USPS has 2 flat rate boxes...anything that will fit is $8.95 to all 50 States. Just shipped a 350 harmonic balancer to Oregon for $8.95...first class would have been $27.48. Keep in mind, ALL, ALL Ebayers are looking for a super deal....it's the bottom line that counts. Have fun.
Ebay is my greatest source for my project and I've had great luck on all my transactions. If a bid war starts, I keep a level head and decide how bad I really need this one or wait for the next. The second thing I look at on any auction is the shipping, because that's where a lot of the scammers make their profit. Last, keep your expectations down because one man's gold is another man's junk and vice-versa. Happy shopping
