Saw on the news last night that a couple in Arizona had a puppy mill running out of their mobile home, which had over 600 small dogs there! As some of you guys know the wife and I have been involved in animal rescue for the last 11 years and have done well over 200 dogs ourselves. If any body comes to michigan from that area, bring a few with you. We were a little miffed looking at all the sad faces we saw. These werent pit bulls etc. They were all small dogs like chihuahua and Poms-Sad !

I am with you bigdude. I do rescue work for the English bulldog rescue. I did not hear about this. Where was this mill located. Is this another Missouri mill? I have been watching the dog auctions in Missouri. If you saw what happens at these it would turn your stomach. I would like to hear more if you find any links.

Another one of those situations that just make you ill. People find money more attractive than moral values. Most times the customers never know the story behind the dog. you can only hope a neighbor or someone blows em in.

There were 700+ dogs in a triple wide mobile home full of feces and urine smells, with the people living amongst them. We wish we lived closer to help but I'm sure they will get some from other rescues.

Sorry big dude, I had trouble with my eyes yesterday and didn't read so well. I see that this was in Arizona. I too hope those dogs get picked up by rescue organizations in the area. Animals deserve so much better than they get by most humans. It is just sad.

Years ago I got a boxer doberman mix for my little girl. Dog had been a cage in a store for so long that her front legs were bowed cause she couldn't stand or sit up all of the way. Gave $25 for her and she became one of the best dorgs we ever had. She was a runner, but she was a lover too. Later in life she developed diabetes and then blindness. I gave her insulin shots twice a day for several years until she passed. Best $25 I ever spent. Eight years later and the big girl is still missed.

Not sure how the Arizona people got away with that many dogs for that period of time. The authorities should have shut them down a long time ago. With that many dogs, most had to be suffering from something. Lack of nutrition and medical care being the biggie.

my 135lb rottweiller became paralized because of a tumor on her spine and because she was a member of our large family I carried her twice a week for 8 weeks to a center for cancer treatments. She regained some mobility and lived for another 6 months. Would I do it again? You bet! Hopefully the old saying " what goes around, comes around" will apply to anyone who knowingly harms a dog or cat. We had an elderly woman here a few years back who had 75 cats in her house. After they removed them they had to tear down the house.

We have a 15 lb mixed mut that runs the house. She jumped off the porch last week & hurt her back leg. Now she gets carried & lifted up steps, onto the bed, couch & any other place she wants to go. She is the one in the front. haha

I guess some of the dogs were missing some feet or paws from living in those conditions. They sure were cute! We have six dogs-all in the house and six cats too. All but the lildoxie, were rescued.

As an animal lover myself, I certainly feel sorry for all of those dogs. It is criminal for making them live in such conditions. However, one must wonder the mental condition of the couple that chose to live amongst them.
