Where is the neutral safety on a 400R switch i found out the hard way the truck was in reverse when i thought it was in park when i shut it off good thing there was nothing around ,better yet someone to get hurt .good thing i had my foot on the brake ,a habit when you drive stick for a long time the shifter is a B&M floor

If you are talking about GM transmissions, there is not one that is made with a built in neutral safety switch that I'm aware of. The switch is mounted usually on the steering column. Some trucks had a switch that was mounted on the side of the trans and would tie in with the shifter linkage.

Lokar has a electric-cable switch that mounts on the transmission. I have one on my 39 coupe and it works great. Go to there website....

thanks !yes it is a GM tranmission the Lokar elecrtic -cable switch sounds like the solution,i have a cable setup

Ron Frances also has electric neutral safety switchs .
