Installing a/c compressor and was wondering if the fill plug and fittings should always be in the upright position. running into a litle problem with hose routing and was curious if it could be at a different angle. I am going to get the 135 degree fittings next week. Almost got this ??? done.

Yes I ran my last one at about a 60 degree angle on the oil filler. It never leaked, it worked just fine.

I rotated it one mount down and it made hose routing worse--didn't really leak oil, but if you remove cap oil will come out. so i guess I will run it this way with a couple of different fittings and make it look as good as possible. Just so it works. got a month to finish for first cruise and swap meet.

The positioning of the access fittings on the hoses is not critical, as they have spring loaded schrader type valves in them. If you pull off the dust cap and something leaks out, then you have a leaking schrader valve, and that should be corrected, as you can't rely on the dust cap to seal up the fitting. Scruffybeast

They make a hard line about 8"-10" long that will get it closer to the engine. I think Vintage Air sells them.
