I need to attach some velcro to the inside of a convertible top. The double back tape stuff won't stick to the material. Any recommendations as to what type of adhesive to use, 3M super weatherstrip cement, 3M super trim adhesive, etc. Needs to adhere very well. Thanks

Chances are the material that nothing wants to stick to has some sort of mold release residue on it and it's possible nothing, including the 3M adhesives you mentioned, is going to stick to it without cleaning the area with an appropriate solvent. The question is what will cut the release residue without harming that which it is on. In a case like this plain rubbing alcohol might make for a good test and if that doesn't do it try soap and water with a good rinse. Just be careful or you might end up with an unwanted moon roof with no way of closing it. Meaning I wouldn't touch it with anything like acetone, lacquer thinner, or MEK without first testing on a piece of scrap material.

probably so---there are velcro strips glued on there now--very well--don't know how long they have been on there. Just need to know what would be best after area is scuffed and cleaned

Self tapping screws about 3" long should hold it just fine!
