If it were possible would send you a bit of warm sunshine weather (about 78 and not a cloud in the sky here). If you think you need pontoons where you are, you should have been here last year, we had over 92 inches of rain in 2007 and the way 2008 is starting off we may have a near repeat. Normal rainfall here is around 45 inches.
are you in the northern part of the state or the south?
I thought that I knew it all , but..

my wife and I have been talking about moving to a warmer climate. She's looking for that elusive warm and clear water. Don't know if there is such a thing but we keep trying to find it. Don't want to move out of the states.

About the only place you'll find that most of the year is around Sarasota, Fla. But then there is always the prospects of bad news hurricanes anywhere along the Florida coast between June and the end of October. We do have a few rock bottom lakes with clear water here in Texas but not in places I'd really want to live year round, but that's just me. Lake Havasu on the border between Arizona and California has clear water most of the time, but summers can be hotter than hates. The redeeming value Havasu has it's just a short hop to Vegas, 168 Miles of Route 66, and one of the best Fun Runs on the face of the planet.
You can get your clear water in many of the fine little beach towns on the panhandle of Florida. Water is so clear, that on a sunny day you can count all 653 sharks lurking in the waters just a few yards off of the beach. ;-) When I retire to Florida I'm, going to Central Florida, no crystal blue water, no gators, no sharks, just quiet cool environs with a sprinkling of migrant farm workers to keep it interesting. Probably move into Dixie's neighborhood and annoy him for awhile. LOL.
the sharks and gators are exactly what's keeping my wife here in Delaware, the landvof no hills, mountains,or valleys. I've been to Texas before andci really liked it. We were even looking at a farm outside of south padre island. Then my wife read a story on our way back home about the Mexican mafia and that was the end of that!
But thanks for all the info and I'll be checking out the lake in Arizona.

ABOUT 50 IN N.W. INDIANA NOT BAD ,, SO I WENT OUT AND UNWINTERIZED THE GARAGE ,, OL BEAR
Here is a spot you might consider. Not for everyone, but it depends on what you want. Not to worry about the gators. If you see one, just leave it alone and it won't bother you. No sharks here. Be sure to click on all the links.
If you decide to come for a look see, let me know and we'll give you the 25 cent special tour. This place is VERY large and takes more than one day to take it all in.
