Are all Mustang II manual Racks the same or did they change during there life span are there numbers stamped that you can use to order a replacement?

manual racks are all 16" center to center on the mounting bosses. the ratios are all pretty much the same with the exception of a few VERY rare sport/racing versions that were available. They all use a spined 9/16 x 26 shaft. So ordering a replacement is not a problem. Most rod dealers stock them including us

well it is on my 38 pick up with super bell 6'' drop straight axle there is a little play in the steering and thinking of replacing it,thank you for your help

just information, the '71-73 Pinto racks are a 3:75 to one ratio, the '74-78 Mustang II units are 4:15 to one, and the '79-93 racks have a 4:25 to one ratio Manual steering only.

I picked up a "recycled" rack for mock up and it was one of those rare versions and would not fit the MII crossmember. So chances are you'll know if you get an oddball/rare rack.
