I have two solid steel chrome wheels and would like to paint them if it is possible. Is their some chemical to use so the paint would stick. or is their a way to remove the chrome. Thanks in advance for the expert information I will be recieving.

Any plating shop can remove the chrome with basically the reverse process of how it was originally applied. However, it might just be less expensive to just buy a new set of wheels to paint. There really isn't any reason you can't paint over the chrome if proper prepping is done, but the labor necessary again might just make it cheaper to buy new wheels.

my local chrome shop will strip the chrome layer off fairly cheap. no real labor involved other than dropping in the tank for a while. after the chrome is stripped down to the softer nickel layer, prep & shoot a coat of etch primer ( i have good results with ppg dx 1791/1792 wash primer) then scotchbrite, prime & paint.
