I am trying to help a friend start a build on a 1953 Dodge Station Wagon. Yes, He knows, this is not exactly a main stream choice. He likes it that way. He has a built up 425 Buick nailhead with a T400 trans for power. I think Fatman makes a frame kit for this odd ball, but are there any other suppliers out there that offer a front suspension kit for this car? I have been told that there is a cross member kit made by Chassis Engineering, but I have not been able to find any information on it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Fatman is the only one I know that may have a kit for that odd ball. Good luck and send pictures.

Try chassis engineering phone 309-643-2655 ask for Jim Donovan. Post some pics. of the wagon. Is it a 2 door or 4. Should be a neat ride.

My brother is building a 1949 Plymouth Suburban now. He used Fatman air ride, running 5.7 HEMI.

Thanks for the lead Whipsold39, we called Chassis Engineering and they steered us to J+W Garage. They say that they have a frame stub and offered to help in any way they could. We are waiting for some additional info, but it sounds like they have exactly what we are looking for. As for the '49 Suburban posted by Orhotrod, wow! That is going to be a nice looking ride! Ours is nowhere near that nice......yet. A Hemi sounds like a really good choice. I suspect my friend chose the nailhead because he has one. He "dances to a different drummer" if you know what I mean.
