It's time to get a distributor for my Tudor. I started doing some research into different kinds and have quickly become overwhelmed with all the options available. MSD alone, has a bizillion options. I've got a new 350 / 330 hp crate motor with a single Edelbrock 650 (no comments here, I'm not changing it at this point). Street use only. I'd like to keep it as simple and clean as possible. Any recommendations on what to use and, just as important, what not to use are appreciated.

ROBERT, GIVE MSD A CALL, THEY HELP YOU WITH WHAT YOU NEED. WHEN WE WERE DRAG RACING, THATS WHAT WE USED.

I did that Mike and that's when I started getting confused. The guy was really helpful, but had so many options. One is a HEI style with the coil built into the cap and doesn't require anything else while others require remote coils or boxes. Some have vacuum advance, others don't, etc, etc.

Robert, MSD 8360 distributor, MSD 8203 coil, This has the small cap and doesn't require a ignition box (6A,6AL) and has vacuum advance and adjustable mechanical advance. I use MSD ignitions on all our cars. If you need (want) a rev limiter you can use distributor MSD8361, MSD8202 Blaster II coil and MSD6420 6AL control box with rev control. I usually use the later set up with the rev limiter.Hope this helps, any questions feel free to call Snyder Street Rods 402-463-1940

robert if you have the room up against the firwall i would go with the hei type dist 1 wire all done no clutter and they are all fixed with a 50,000 volt coil . summit sells them fairly cheap and can be ordered in many cap colors . if room is a issue go with the unilight like shine said i just like a clean eng bay easier to clean up after a day in the rain . bob in ny

I use a stock GM HEI distributor, never had a problem. If you need parts like module or coil you can go to any parts store and get them.
