My coupe is a four link, coil over car and after close inspection, I've found that the front left is a half inch lower then the front right, and the right rear is a half inch higher then the left rear. How does one go about adjusting that out? Totally confussed about suspension geomerty. Any advise would be a great help. Someone needs to write a book, RODDING FOR DUMMIES.

count threads first. that will tell you if a shock is turned up more. then just get them all the same. from there it depends on how it sets.

Put the tape measure somewhere you cant find it and dont sweat the small stuff. I had a 34 chevy that one fender was 1inch off from the other side, but the frame was equal. That was just the way it was built back in the day.

Another alternative is to find someone that weighs around 400 lbs and load them into the passenger seat...(grin)

Do like shine said adjust the shock ,just loosen spanner nuts on right rear left frt will rise keep mesure till u get it. you shorten the spring it gets stronger & raises the car, i think you get it right.

I have been told that if you raise the right rear it will in affect put more weight on the left front, which seems to be your case. I have to run my right rear a little stiffer than my left rear because of clearance issues with my panhard bar. I wanted to raise my body up a little in the front for the tire clearance so the pic is a spacer that I had made. Steve you are right that it isn't an exact science. Shine gave me the same advice and I kept tightening up the rears to keep the body travel down to keep from bottoming out and then adjusted right to left to get as close as possible to even. I finally found a happy medium for everything.

Hey Steve, did the previous owner have it set that way on purpose? Starfire actually hits on a good point, the previous owner may have had a hefty passenger and may have adjusted the suspension as such.

If you want to learn all about setting up a suspension order www.streetrod101.net's video. It will teach you everything you want to know, plus more! Great schooling for $45!
