Hey everybody....just bought a 39 Ford Tudor in better than average shape. Been parked in Texas since 1964! Body is good, chassis is decent. I want to slam it to the running boards, put on some 20's and 18's. I was wondering if anyone had bought a new chassis, and also boxed and reinforced an old chassis, and which you would suggest I do. I have several bids on a new chassis and I really think I can do better financially by using the old one and fitting the modern new stuff to it. i really appreciate your input as I try to make up my mind......any insight or what to look for as far as problems would be appreciated, too. thanks in advance....... BTW welcome back Skeet God is good all the time! Thanks - The Inspector

There is a few shops, like ours, that can use your exsisting frame, and build around that. If its a solid frame, without the typical rot, that alot of 35-40 frames have, you could easily box it, and make it work quite well. We just finished a 37 for my father, doing just that.

We also offer new frames, thats your choice, but if you have a solid frame, no reason not to use it.

I agree with Mike. We also offer new chassis and modify originals. You have to remember to consider the cost of stripping, sandblasting, and possible repairing your original vs. starting with new. When we use original rails we spend a fair amount of time filling in all the unneeded holes, grinding old brackets, welds, etc. It is nice to be able to keep the body with the original frame and one customer of mine insisted on doing so the keep the 'original soul' of his ride.

Good luck!

since the vin is on the frame i always try to use it. there are just too many ways to do it using the original frame. unless you just have to have mll you can do this without cutting up the frame. dropped axle in front , chassis eng kit in the rear. the 35-40 frame is plenty strong with only min boxing up front. it also supports the body , floors and even the seats.

Bagged TCI with 4" mini tubs.
Cheaper with a rusty, dirty gennie ?? Build both of them on paper first. Yogi's can help you on this site.

Not encouragement but in fact words of wisdom. I'm still trying to find out how to put those little smiley faces up so everyone else can tell that I am B.S***ing, but until that time you'll just have to bear with me.

As for the ugly green truck ( in your opinion ) I found a guy in Arizona that had a differing opinion as to the color but he paid me a wonderful green color in the amount of 26,000.00 dead presidents..................Still looking for those little smiley faces!

Take care and I look forward to seeing you soon. Brent
