Don........Fraud is a felony in all States.....assuming that is the case. I have sued for $$$ 27 times over the years from Washington DC, to Oklahoma City, to Daytona Beach, to Bridgeport Conneticut and all points in between.
What are the details ??

Well here go's. I saw his add for a 1949 Chevy Pick Up Street Rod, He is in Greene Iowa and i am in Spring Texas But i thought what the hey and gave him a call. In his printed ad he said this truck had a more modern late 60s front end {whitch is what i wanted} had a new $3000.00 paint job NO rust -vin matches title ect--ect. My smart side told me if i wanted it i should make the 2000 mile trip to see it and make arrangments to get it home, But my he sounds honest side said to trust him. He made it sooo efertless made arrangemants to ship it {$500.00} i could not even make the drive for that} ---SOOO when it got here guess what ORIGANAL junk 49 front end,paint so thick you can peel it with ypur fingernail,under all the fenders running board ect. SOLID rust. no vin plate,no interior, The transmission will not shift ot of low also leaked ot 5 qt. in a month no brakes. Much more..As for fraud i have ben told by lawyers here that i can sue him but my understanding is he is not new to this and he has nothing to get and i have to pay a lawyer up front,. Well iam just a plain ol retired FIREMAN who wanted a street rod to play with and can't afford to hire a lawyer . So there go's ..Don 281-353-0447

That sounds like a lot more than $10,000 worth of fixing to me, and unless you paid $10,000 for the truck (which sounds high priced for what you're describing) you really took a bath!


I'd contact your DA and see what they advise you to do. Don't know if this would fall under "interstate fraud" but the DA may be able to make so inroads for you. Regardless, best of luck to you.

I know of this fellow also. He sold out a couple of years ago, but now is back in business doing what he does best. (selling junk and scamming people) Too bad one cannot administer a little old time "justice" without ending up paying for it, but that is what one feels like. I too have been scammed, not by him, but a couple others. Hindsight is 20/20--That is why they are called eyeglasses and not asssglasses, Next time I pay the cost to go look!!

Have you guys been reading the updates of Chris Novak foremerly Street Rods by Treads?.......He took Hundreds of thousands of dollars in deposits from people all across the USA and did not deliver on anything! Go to Buyer Beware and look at his history....I'm embaressed to say he got me for $9600.00................UNBELIEVABLY he starting up again in Dover N.H...........One victim named Hasmat (email name) has been trailing him from N.Y. to Penn. to Maine, now New Hampshire......check the pevious blogs....he's poison!

if he placed an ad you may have recourse- was it online or in a newspaper? I always tell people - if you cant afford to lose teh $$ SPEND the $$ to make sure you are buying what you want.

There are plenty of car guys out there who would have driven by to look at it for you.Sorry to hear you got taken.

As for Chris Novak- PLEASE keep us posted- I live in MA so Im not far from there- If you can get info on where he sets up I can work with some locals to make sure he is doing right (or not)

Hi you all from Australia.

I bort a 6.5 (454) turbo desel crate motor from the US for my landcrusre, and I ask a ARB 4wheel drive shop in Dubbo N.S.W. Australia to sale it for me, and he swopt the bloke and all the inturnals parts and gave me a 396 B/B back. I lost $ 10,500.00.

So you are not the only one it hapens all over the place. Ron..
