Fellas, I know we have talked a bit on this subject before, and I tried to find some older discussions on this but can't seem to find where to look for those. I am sure some of you have done this before. If you were to buy a car out of state and wire transfer the money to the sellers bank, and you were having it shipped..when and how does the car/money transfer take place. It's kind of hard to let the money go and you want to be sure you're getting the car. Is there an escrow setup or something or how do you go about doing this? also, again, who has had good experience with what shipper? East cost to midwest. thanks..

You can do an escrow. Look at ebay site. They have that service. My advice, jump a plane and look for yourself. Somebody here might be able to help depending on location. Pace Auto Shippers. Talk to Dawn 231 828-5337. Without escrow money wired is money gone. Good Luck and be careful.

I know that I have been told that our shippers can help with the final paperwork and making sure the vin numbers match, the car isn't wrecked etc. Best way of course is to be there when it is picked up and authorize the transfer by phone while you are there.

The gentleman that bought my Willys flew out and looked the car over. When he decided that he wanted the car, we went to my bank where they arranged an electronic transfer. They held the title. Once the money was exchanged, he was given the title. He stayed overnight beacause my bank said it could happen in a day. I worked together with him to find a shipper in the mean time. We arranged for a shipper to be there in a week and I took pics of the car being loaded and signed the delivery sheet. Everything went smooth on both ends. Used TLC Auto Transporters from this site. Car went from Missouri to Florida, with phone communications at any time and was delivered on time. Looking in person is the way to do it correctly. Unless you have someone you really trust and knows exactly what you want( we all have different opinions) try to see it your self.
