Ok go ahead and laugh, but I need some advice. Is there any way to remove (and reinstall) the glass lens from a new Classic Instruments speedometer? It looks like its pretty well sealed. After I mocked up my Model A, I blew it apart for painting. At that point I set my new speedometer face-down on a shelf for safe keeping. Well, when I picked it up this weekend, there's a DEAD BUG attached to the inside of the glass. Right in the middle! I've tried shaking the thing and blowing inside with my air hose but the sucker won't budge. I don't want to pay for shipping to and from the manufacturet just to get rid of a damn bug!!!! I'm not about to install it this way - it'll "bug" me to no end!

You wont believe this the EXACT same thing happend to me- I had it out to paint the the outside ring on the gauges-it was a volt gauge and the spider got in the hole for the light and webbed me- Sorry to say , I never did get it apart- when I sold the car it still had a little bit in there.lol

I recently sent them a "Moon Eyes" style gauge they built about 15 years ago, I wanted to reset the Odometer, because of new drivetrain for a hotrod I was working on, it only costs $4 to ship it US Post Office Priority, they are real good to deal with. Even though they would not rewind the odometer( Federal law), they gave me a deal on buying a new identical one and knocked off some money from it, because I had to buy a new style 3 wire sending unit. A very good family style company.

Bug's gone! The folks at Classic Instruments are great to work with. 15 bucks covered shipping, old bezel removel, bug removel, cleaning, new bezel installation, and they shielded the speedo as well. Its nice to deal with people like that. They didn't even laugh at the bug thing, just wanted to know what kind of bug it was.
