Has anybody worked with American Autowire?I'am getting ready to wire a 32 ford hi-boy fiberglass car and they are close by and was curious if any of you guys have done business with them and used there wiring products. Also if you had to use there tech support were they on top of there game.
Doesn't much matter if they're close or not but just thought I'd check out there business. Was planning on using Ron Francis but wanted to know about American Autowire also before I pull the trigger. Thanks guys.

Your going to find a lot of different opinions on wire harneses on this site. Some of the guys swear by painless, some ron francis, some use other brands. I personally like the ron francis kits. I've installed a few of them and found it to be very easy. I've also installed painless and centec, they work fine, I just prefer ron francis. The tech support is top notch if you have questions. The instructions are easy to follow. The bottom line is what ever kit you use take your time and have a plan on how to route your wires and mount the panel. The kit is only as good as the person installing it. Remember you might have to work on it some day so don't bury it way up under the dash.

A little while back, Shine was working with American Autowire, and had a few things to say about it, but I can't repeat what he said. I'm a good boy and good boys don't say them things in public.

painless, painless & painless....did i mention painless wiring should be the first choice....easy instructions, color coded wiers, easy to read, understand, and follow instructions, and great tech support.

'course that's just my opinion

Bert, won't repeat what others have said, but if you read the threads at

You should get the drift. Painless is the favorite of many here, but many of us have used Ron Francis kits to our satisfaction as well. It is a personal choice. Before you buy see if you can find out about the instructions as to how easy are they to follow. If the instructions are lacking, your satisfaction will be too. Before I purchased my RF kit, I liked the American Autowire kit as well, but it did not offer me the level of independence that I wanted.
