I agree, I have never heard that the S10 had a stout rear end. Is this Camaro rear end a 12 bolt or 10 and what year is it? If you plan to race it and get plenty of traction then you might prefer to switch to a stronger set up like a 9" Ford (I cannot believe I said that!) Ha-Ha

i intend to run an s10 rear in inderweed with an ls1. first off a 38 chevy pu is so light in the rear all your gonna do is light the tires up. swapping gears aint cheap even if you do it yourself. go with the s10, if you blow it up then worry about it. the s10 is not a weak as some think.

This s-10 rear end comes with a Detroit locker and is only available as a G80 from the factory ?the Camaro rear is 12 bolt i don't know what year camaroit came off i just bought the truck, i do have access to the guy who owned /built the trck i gues i could ask him ,no racing at least no serious racing changing gears was my first option having a narrowed rear is the other option i would like to fit bigger meats with out having tires protruding past the fenders

How much back space do u have , those a rs are most likely 4 in bs thats industry standard, its alot easier to change wheels than rears i have 10s with 5.5 in bs you may have to tub are get wider fenders. do your home work before you go buy something that want work

Are you rear fenders the original? superior glass makes rear fenders for you truck that are 2'' wider. The truck bed width is the key to this puzzle. I don't remember what year the beds got wider. The wider fenders worked fine on my '41 Chevy Truck. I was running 275/60 R15. on a 8" rim.

I measured the rear end i want to use and i have 2' clearance from rim to frame ,the wheel offset is 5".the bed is wider then the frame rails, the bed is aluminum and is the correct size per the previous owner, the fenders are original and the bed sides need to be cut and a slight inner fender added about 2", so is it still tubbed or it is considered a tub when you narrow the frame rails

You say off set do u mean back space they are different, u could call it a mini tubb .back space is from inside of wheel where it fits aganist axle to the very back edge of wheel if its 5 someone ordered it iits not standard.

You said they stick out two in how much clearence do you have now between frame/bed & tire. Seems to me if you must have wider tires & wheels the best bet would b wider fenders, you go to tubb it you have alot of frame workto do if you have it done $$$$$$$.

take the rear wheel and tire off. put a straight edge on the axle flange. measure inside to the bed, outside to fender edge. thats all you get this tells you what offset you need. all ways measure top , front and rear at 15 in out from center. this is where the tire will be.

With the current rear end there is 3.5" between the tire and the frame on a 8" rim .there 13"between frame rail and fender
