What ??? On Barrett-Jackson auction Thursday, sold at $100,000 for a FIBERGLASS '55 Chevy post? What will I ever do with my all steel five-five driver? Guess I will just part it out.

Barret-Jackson Friday evening = yellow '55 Chevy post/LT-1 >STEEL<......just went for $52,000.

Time to call Rat's Glass in Tenn.

Nuff said, Jim

The way I understand it, this body was made for Drag Racing mostly. I think the body was made from The Bad Apple drag car, but don't hold me to it. This car was set up for recreation and show. It had made many appearances at the Pumpkin Run Nats. In Owensville, Ohio. It now is on rent to Quaker, Steak and Lube, near Milford, Ohio. He used to start up at Pumkin Run about every hour on Sat. It would litterly shake the ground if you stood 25 or 30 foot away!I heard he was mking a fiberglass car off of it.

Several years ago the guys on Hot Rod TV built a glass 55 for the street. I just kept saying "why in the hell would you put all of this work into a glass car that is so readily available in steel?"

To each their own, but $100K for a glass 55??? Must have one of them flux capacitors or something!

Tin,

Haven't asked them yet, because I want to ask in person. Plan to get down there by the end of next week or before.

I saw a beautiful 55 Chevy 4 door post coming home from work yesterday in Grand Prairie. Aqua and white with a set of Americans on it. Back in the day we wouldn't have given you $50 for one. Really surprised there are any left.
