US RADIATOR WON'T MAKE AN ALUMINUM RADIATOR WITH A TRANS COOLER. THEY RECOMMEND A SEPERATE COOLER FOR THE TRANNY. ANY COMMENT ABOUT THAT?

IT'S A 37 MINOTTI WITH A BBC THAT CURRENTLY HAS A WALKER 4 CORE AND COOLS THE CAR JUST FINE EXCEPT WHEN IN TRAFFIC ON A HOT AND HUMID DAY. HAS A 16" PULLER FAN ON A THERMOSTAT. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD GO FOR THE ALUMINUM EXTRA POLISH UNDER THE HOOD AND MAYBE HELP WITH THE IN TRAFFIC COOLING AT THE SAME TIME.

Grant, Afco makes a great radiator a few friends have them in their rods all are happy with them, also heard good things about PRC, If you use the epoxied one ( Griffin) and have a leak you must send back to manufacture for repair. I never used the trans cooler in the radiator the model A and the roadster both have frame mounted coolers.

I AGREE, THAT'S WHY I AM THINKING ABOUT MAKING THE CHANGE. CAN'T USE A MECHANICAL FAN, NOT ENOUGH ROOM.

Grant, I have a Griffin too, thought it was just the wrong application but the darn thing doesn't cool well. I wanted to add that most tranny guys will tell you to run a separate tranny cooler and not with the radiator. I have never lost a tranny and I have always had a cooler by itself.

I ran a afco in my 39 the last seven years without a problem. I prefer the mech. fan if at all possible.

Aluminum cools the 400 in my '37. Never a problem. And 400s have a rep for running hot.

Hey Grant! I just noticed you're in Washington NJ. Go out to Washington Auto Salvage and talk to Paul, the owner. He's a long time rodder and may have some advice. Tell him Frank says hi.
