I'd like to put some Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs in my street rod. It is a small block 350. I believe it is the HO, the 330 horse version. Car was built new in 2003. How do I determine which Bosch part number is correct for that engine?

When I bought the car, the engine was described as a ZZ4. So, after going to http://www.gmperformanceparts.com I found the AC Delco platinum plug for the ZZ4 to be RapidFire ACD No 5 Sparkplug. I bought some and installed them. After asking my local rod shop, they said it is not the ZZ4, but the HO version. The HO engine takes RapidFire ACD No 8 (NOT 5) Sparkplug. The car starts immediately and runs well. My rod shop says the plugs are OK and I won't do damage to the engine.

A second question: How do I confirm which crate engine it is?

regards, Ken

The car was completed early 2003, so it likely has a 2002 crate engine.

I tried to search for this topic, but the search engine is not working for me last night or this morning.

From the GMPP website, the (2008) 350 HO engine compression is 9.1:1. So, to find the right spark plug, I find a production vehicle that used a Chevy 350 with a compression ratio of 9.1:1? My rod is carbureted. FI or carburated -- it makes no difference as far as spark plug is concerned, correct?

thanks, Ken

Ken I show Bosch 4005 or Bosch 4305 from my notes for my engine.. I have the later Vortech heads. Does not matter if it is FI or carbed. If you wanted to crossreference it-- I would go with a mid-power Corvette. They ran between 9:1 to 10:1 compression. Again, should not be a big deal. Mark
