Hi again all,

In addition to enquiring about the right Radiator paint, I tought maybe you all could through some light on another subject dealing with same radiator. I have had to remove the radiator from my ride three times in three years to repair small leaks where the fins are soldered to the top tank. The most recent repair was done by a well know Rad shop in the area experienced with restorations, streetrods, and race cars. He claims that stress is causing the fractures and also claims it will do it again. I don't have anything out of the norm here. ('30 all steel body, TCI frame, Super Bell Front End, 350/350 stock, Walker Radiator). Top or Radiator uses the standard support rods and bottom uses standard Model A bolts with springs. I am thinking that if stress is really the problem, I may be overtightening the bottom bolts (compressing the springs too much). Does anyone have any tips on how tight (or Loose) these bolts should be??

I would just bolt up the radiator without the springs. Don't really need them.

I would place a 1/8" rubber pad between the radiator bracket and the chassis mount. I have the spring, but the bolt and nut are snug, do not over tighten.
