Let it go Buster. No, Don may have the '48 done in time but it won't go to the BJ circus. If he takes a car it will be at one of the other auction houses that same week. If you don't already know, that whole week Scottsdale is flooded with classic car auctions. BJ is the one televised, so everyone knows about that one. The others are less of a circus, according to sellers and buyers.
I don't want to start a Slam the member blog here, was just curious if any member was going to have a car going across. It makes watching a little more fun if you know the car. I must have missed something here.. Big Al if you want me to kill this blog I will...
I agree, it's enjoyable to watch and when you know someone there it's exciting! I don't think this post needs to be deleted, we just need to get back to the respectable community this was only a few months ago.
Even if you're not a buyer, it's a blast to go to B-J. I've been there several times, it's a great "show" with a lot of action, vendors, cars, and PEOPLE to see. Everyone seems up beat and when the big dog cars run...you can FEEL the excitement.
you are so right Shine,i don't even think the high end one are collectors ,hell u can buy all the pieces to build one just like it are the same builder will repeat the build for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Heck u would b upbeat if you were there with 10mil at your disposal ,an all them people were falling all over you, food, drinks are anything your little heart desired , quit buying an see how long it last FANASTY LAND bj laughing at you all the way to the bank. my 2 cents worth. if not for the people who pony up the big bucks we would have nothing but humdrum cookie cutters to look at. these are the people who brought streetrodding to the level it is at today. but i dont see those complaining all the time about bj cutting the price of their cars for sale. auctions are not for the novice or faint of heart

Personally, I really enjoy Barrett-Jackson. I think its pretty entertaining and it's just another facet of our hobby. If some guys have the big bucks they want to lay down on cars - why not. It's not my league, but I have fun watching & I don't think B-J has any real impact on whats going on in our everyday part of the hobby. Its pretty much a fantasy world. I suppose if I had millions to create a collection of cars, I'd probably be there as well. One never knows what will crank some guy's starter and bring the big bucks! I don't understand all the negative talk about B-J. Unless you're a buyer or seller, its just entertainment.
I found out very early in life, when I do not like something if I really dig deep enough for the reason it's because I'm pissed because I can't do it or can't afford to do it and someone else can. Changed my way of thinking a long time ago. I like to watch the BJ Auction and to tell you the truth...I would like to be able to go out there and drop the HUGE WAD on something I wanted. I am glad for the guys that can do it, they obviously have succeeded!

So true, so true! I enjoy it also, but it is just entertainment. If I had the money I might attend, but not for the purpose of buying a streetrod. They have lots of other pretty things too.
Hey!. I'm with you guys on wanting to see those auctions..we just got cable so this will be the first time we'll really get to see them..If my posts sounded negative It wasn't meant to be that way. Guess I didn't realize how much some cars sell for these days

A guy I know around the corner, a hot rodder, fell into the vette resto not by choice but demand, doing very well at it, one I looked at was a 57 FI awesum! he's got this down to the overspray and paint stripe assy. markings. he has a book on the stuff. go for it!with your expierence you'll nail it.
