Long afternoon trying to install a distributor. I've done it before but today the gremlins had their say. Here's the problem: Set the engine at top dead center mark and removed the dist. Went to reinsall a different one and the marks would not line up when the dist engaged the oil pump. Assumed I was on the exhaust stroke and turned the engine one turn and realized the dist was on the bench. Now I can't get the dist to engage the oil pump and be in the assumed correct position for the rotor to be in the #1 poistion. It is one ahead of the normal position. So what have I done and what do I need to do. Jim
