I'm lookking to ship some parts, a bench seat and a gas tank west from the chicagoland area. Anybody have any suggestions as to what company to use? Trying to help out a fellow member here. The price I was quoted for frieght was obscene. Anybody have a car getting shipped that way? maybe you have room for a pallet that would way less than 100lbs.

Brian,

You might try Greyhound, I had some fenders shipped to me and they were fairly reasonable. Also DHL is said to be a lower cost shipper of large items. As a last resort you could contact an independant trucker that makes regular west coast runs and see if he could help you out. Hope this helps you a little.

Check to see if there is a parts store or business your buyer uses reguarly. Set up delivery there, shipping might be cheaper. I had this done with a set fenders from OR. shipping was real reasonable.

Try Uship.com. It works like Ebay. You post what you want to ship and companies bid. I shipped an engine from Houston to Savannah for $185.00.
