I'm getting ready to isulation and sound deadening in my car. I won it at the Northeast Nats 4 years ago and don't know what brand it is. It is blue felt on one side and foil on the other. It's about a 1/4" thick. I take it for granted the felt side gets glued to the metal. I want to know if any one has used this before? It seems like it is good stuff but I dont know. I checked all the forum pages and could notd find anything. I hope Bigal don't jump on me again. Thanks for the help. P S I'll be doing this In the morning.

I used it in my streetrod..Dont know about the heat issue, but it sure helps with sound. It is sold at most home improvement stores as water heater insulation. There are way better products out there that are specifically designed for insulation, but I doubt there are any cheaper than this stuff. You get what you pay for.

Mine is foil side down and carpert over felt side. The foil blocks the drafts.

Doing the firewall? Install of piece of 1/2", one side smooth sanded plywood first. Mount AC, wire straps, etc easily. Then insulate over plywood. I also use same plywood on floor 100%.....makes for sound deadner and easy attachment for carpet. 4' X 8' piece is bucks at Lowes or Home Depot but it will not warp.
