Been reading all the negative happening though I would throw in a positive one. This pass summer on my way to a cruize night my car just shut off was able to coast into the parking lot. Did the normal checks found no spark, had a new control module and coil with me changed both still no spark. Well now I called a rollback. Ken Hansen and his wife Gigi (Hansen Automotive) had been inside eating while this was going on, he came over handed me his card with cell phone number written on the back, said when the flatbed came if I wanted him to check the car out give him a call and he would open the shop. Called Ken a 10:00 PM I met him at his shop, he and said he would check the car out the next day then gave me a ride home. He called in the morning he had found the problem a short in the tach line. Ask how much well Ken says got lucky and found the problem right away less than 15 minutes so no charge. Gave him money away I could not let a good deed not go rewarded. Believe me there are some really good people in the Auto repair business. If you are in the Central NJ and need repair work done give Ken a call good work fair prices. Of course when I say fair, labor in the Jersey area is not cheap.

Joe, I agree with you about good shops. The problem is finding them. Even through recomendations from other people are good it doesn't mean you won't get ripped off. Sometimes you are stuck as you were and you may have gotten ripped off after leaving your car in his shop overnight, if you get my meaning. I'm not saying your guy didn't do the right thing, you were lucky. I wish there were more like that one.

In NY the prices aren't cheap.

Joe, I've been rescued by Rodders more than once. The first time, a friend of Norm Grabowski's (Barry) drove us all over to find a coil on Sat evening, while trying to make it home from the Nats. Thought he was telling a tall tale but there he and Norm were in the next Street Scene. The parts store just closed and he banged on the door until the manager came out and unlocked the door. Have done what I could to repay the favor by helping anyone I could in the same situation.
