Well seeing it’s closing in on the end of another year it would be neat to hear about your most enjoyable/memorable streetrod experience(s) that happened over the last year.

Although I’ve attended a lot of shows and events this last year as a commercial exhibitor I only took the streetrod to maybe 4 of them. So my most enjoyable drive in it happened on Labor Day weekend, a small show about 30 miles to the north, small show, lots of quality local cars, good friends. Just wanted to get out of the shop that day and take a break. Stayed at the show until about noon or so then headed for home. Decided to take an old shortcut I haven’t driven since college, a 20-mile stretch of winding road along the Wisconsin River. What a great way to relieve the mind of the pressures of everyday life. Don’t get me wrong I truly enjoy meeting many of you at the events we set up at but after that ride I realized just how much I miss driving my streetrod. Best wishes for a safe holiday season and a happy new year. Jim

Jim, After waiting many, many years for a street rod something I always put on the back burner giving work, family and divorce my attention I finaly got one. Best thing I ever did besides joining this site. So I have to say the day I bought the car in October 2007 was memorable for me. I hope and pray 2008 is memorable to all of my new friends on this site.

Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to all.

Had a real quiet one this year, limited my Nationals trips to just Syracuse, and Indy. With the wife getting a new knee we decided to lay low. Did have quite a few nice day trips with no destination. I even went to a few local shows but only stayed for an hour or so. It was different putting the emphasis on the ride in stead of the destination. The high point of the year was the undertaking of the new 32 project, what a feeling to see a brand new body and frame dropped off in the garage
Still driving the wife's car, cause I am slow. [ View ] [ Email ] [ Blogs ] [ Car Ads ] Niagara Falls, Canada Charter Member since February 2005

Al, I wish I could. Maybe I will find another one down there to keep there. That means another set of tools and all the goodies that go along with it. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Back to the Fifties in Minnesota was recommended on this site as one of the best in the nation. We attended this event this summer and was not disappointed. The fairgrounds were packed with cars, the grounds themselves were well cared for and the people putting the event on were super. The entire trip was one of the best ever and I've been to some really great shows. My hat is off to MSRA , St. Paul and the entie state. Thank you for a great car show and a great vacation.

Jim, I could just say I am in heaven every time I go to the shop and turn the key on in the '46. This year, I gave up the NSRA Nats to see my granddaughter get married. I was one proud grand dad.

My most memorable expereience this year actually didnt involve me using my own car (which doesnt get out as much as it used to). I was so honored and humbled to have twp cars I worked on at the SEMA show. As a builder , its probably the second coolest thing to have happen , after the Riddler of course...

Other than that? Getting on some new boards and getting the chance to meet people I have only chatted with by email. THATS pretty awesome too.

Happy Holidays.
