Still driving the wife's car, cause I am slow.

Just finished this tonight, thought I would share it. Hood hinge at front is spring loaded and lifts hood straight up at front so it clears the rad shell, then tilts forward over the grill.

Thanks guys, it was about a week to design and a few evenings to build. made several attempts with plastic sheet first until I could figure the correct length for the rods. It seems to work ok. I was just trying for something different from the side hinge since they are a pain with dipsticks on both sides. It's almost time to blow the car apart to begin paint work, probably after Xmas.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I have the same set-up on my 34 but only power release. I don't like the idea of power release but right now living with it. I do like the way it opens which makes it very easy to do work under the hood. I have a problem with mine hitting the grill frame and chipping the paint on the very edge of the frame when opening the hood. The only way I see to try and fix it is shift the hood back about 1/4 of an inch, maybe a little less. If I try to move the grill forward it starts to make the lines open up to much along the side panels. Any Ideas?

You need to have it so the front lifts a little at first before going ahead. Dave's idea of using a spring looks like a good idea. I think you will have to play with it. When I did my 37 the front would lift a little because of the position of the arms
