I quit buying Frams a long time ago. They used to put out a good filter-- but total junk now. There is a link out there where a guy cut apart every known filter known to man and compared them. Fram was near the bottom of the list.

Quit using Fram when they put that no slip black crap on the bottom to help spin it off. My wrench won't fit them anymore so now I buy Wix...

Tychoo-- I am going to look for the link and will post it. But the higher dollar ones were higher mostly, but there were some that were very high that were generally inexpensive. I recall Purolater Premium Plus, Wix, and NAPA. This guys research also indicated many of the filters were identical under different names (made in the same factory). Interesting stuff. I will try to find it. Mark

Mark, thanks for the info. I looked it over and it's interesting what marketing can do. Here you are paying upwards of $3 for a filter with a name brand on it only to find out it's S--T. I guess AC Delco Duraguard is one of the best out there. I wonder how it is with synthetic oil. I use Mobil 1 oil.

Jim am I confused or where you asking what engines the Wix filters fit? I run them on my big block Chevy's, however I think you can get them for anything......even a Ford- LOL

After reading that article some years ago-- I switched to Purolater Premium Plus almost exclusively... I can always find them anywhere for a few bucks.. Prior to that I SWORE by Fram.
