I know this isn't going into a street rod it wouldn't fit in a 32 ford with a hood but it is going to be a neat car when finished and the owner is about as stoked as I am. Read the labels closely and you will see why I think this is great.

ok Its going in the 68 mustang convertable I had the other pictures of. The customer is one that you always look for if you build cars long enough, I have built 3 other cars for him and he has either sold them because It just didn't fit or he drives the daylites out of them. His most favoriate is the 70 yellow mustang 428 cobra jet I did 4 years ago. We are in charlotte nc and he has driven it to Maryland, Philly, new york or anyother place he has wanted to. He appreaciates the work that goes into these cars and never puts a deadline on them. This time it will be differant we will try to build the complete car in 90 days. He wants to take it to the autofair here in april . Not going to be an easy task since it is the first time for this drivetrain to be used outside a new shelby. I know because ford pulled this one off the assy. line for us. I will post as I go pictures so you can see what I have to go through. Now color is a question, Viper blue with white interior and top or yellow with black top and interior hum decisions decisoins.

Go on with your badself Red! I helped put a whipple charged Cobra drive train into a 40 Ford rat rod last year...it was a BLAST! 6 speed tranny and all. The hardest part by far was the computer programming. Other than that and a few other expected difficulties it really wasn't bad. I'm sure a guy with your knowledge can pull it off with no sweat. Enjoy Keep us posted!

Red with all that power you might need a bit more rubber than those snow tires. Should be a great build, take time to remember us with photos.

red,

if you run into any tech issues with that 4.6 i have a couple numbers around here for some really good tech wizards with ford that are experts with retrofitting in older vehicles. if you hit any snags, let me know. my vote is for the viper blue with white interior, but add white shelby stripes with a blue cloth top.

seller that isn't a 4.6 its the new 5.4 4 valve, shelby gt 500 engine. we are going to try and run it just as ford had it put in the new shelbys with the exception of the antifheft device in the key. We are talking to some tech people now about adding that also. will have to have special keys made for it. I am going to move this thread over to the builders corner or start another on this car there I think that is where it should be. I am still stoked about this car and so is the customer. we are thinking of marketing these for the general public to buy we have an option list so anyone can get what they want coupe, fastback, conv price is the only difference.
