I researched the heck out of them, and ended up buying a BendPak. I called BendPak direct, and they assured me that they build them in CA (can't recall the city). da34guy has a BendPak in his shop, and says he's used them for many years without any problems. I like the air lock system they have for releasing the locks so you can lower it. Most mechanical lifts I've seen use a mechanical system, which, I think could be accidentally bumped, leaned on, or whatever. Maybe not. I just liked the BendPak system. You actually have to hook up an air supply to it, then raise it bit to be able to push the release button and have it function. And, those locks on all four corners set on 1/2" steel plate. Everything is heavy steel. That's my 2 cents. Got mine thru ASE, online. Great, friendly transaction. shipped to a freight terminal in Phoenix, where I picked it up on a car trailer. Just be sober, and have lots of help and lifting power to assemble it.
I was very interested in the Bend Pak , And was going to buy one, the same jobber sold both Bend Pak and Dannmar. The Dannmar is what they call their offshore brand. The guys were after me to go in with them the more lifts they bought the better the deal, so i went in with them it was one of those offshore brands Direct Lift. All i can say is go for the Bend Pak or the Backyard Buddy because. These offshore brands are junk and i think that is where they belong is offshore in about 2000 feet of water were no one can get hurt with them.
