Anyone have any experience with stainless tube mufflers from either Stainless Specialties or Stainless Works. Also can one assume that a longer tube muffler would be more quiet than a shorter one of the same type?

They seem pretty loud no matter what length.

Al has a great Stainless System from Stainless Works, I have not heard it in person but he says it sounds great.

I would like to know more about the system or at least the mufflers and what size pipes for a 350 Chevy Block with headers. Getting ready to do the exhaust. Don't want it too loud.

That's it, after hearing from Tammy it's straight pipes all the way. The hell with the mufflers.

Uuhmmm.....Bob like Coors Lite, Brack likes Millers Draft, Danny is dry, Jim loves Bud......get it?

I have run both. Yep, shorter is louder. I assume you mean cored straigh thru? Run the exhaust into the louvers, more quite.

A real street rod can never be too loow, can never be too loud.

Fun with rods, jim

My whole system is from stainless works.... full length headers, 2.5 inch pipes, mufflers and tail pipes.... the system is pretty loud.... I used the long tube mufflers.... see the Extreme Makeover project for pictures... Stainless Works sells a kit with all the tubing, 45 degree bends, 180 degree and 90 degree as well as straight pipe.... one end of each piece is flared so the next piece fit's into it.... the hangers are really neat also.... check it out and be sure to tell them we sent ya....
