Anyone out there ever try modifying a 4 door split bench so the backs tilt forward more like a 2 door / coupe seat would. I'm using 2004 Impala split bench in my coupe. I love the seat. It has 11 inches of travel forward /backward BUT it would be great if I could lean the backs forward more to help back seat access?

Bernie, have a look at a 2 door seat and try to visualize if the hinge area can be transplanted from one seat to another.i have taken a few seats apart and narrowed them, but never tried swapping parts from frame to frame. it should not be too hard once the upholstery is removed. Go to the tool shop and buy a cheap pair of hog ring pliers to put the material back after you modify the frame.
