A good way to find sources of wind noise is to use wide masking tape. Simply tape off areas you suspect, road test, tape off some more, road test. Keep doing this and usually you can pin point the source and then seal it off to eliminate the noise.

Hey Dixie, Is Dave missing the truck already??? I hear the 30 may not be around real long. Maybe he should have gotten the gold one from Ed before he traded it for the roadster. I tell you, when it comes to cars, it's like a revolving door down there. I feel strange having the same two cars all these years. ;-)

first you have to find the noise. is it an air leak around the windshield or at the corners of the door ? does it have a sealed windshield or crank out ?

It has a crank out, has new hardware on it not sure if it works are is sealed. Though it may b traping air under the visor.

My coupe gets a lot of wind noise also.

My windsheild seals well. I think it is just the nature of

the beast. As 1carguy said I tried the masking tape thing

up under the visor & it made no differance, they just seem to

be noisy period.

I don't get any wind noise from my visor at all. Oh yeh, I forgot, it's not running yet! Seriously, I think Model A's are always goin to produce a lot of wind noise the way the doors overlap the body, the way the windshield tilts out and with that big scoop, I mean visor, above the wind shield. It traps a lot of wind with nowhere to go. These things weren't originally designed to go very fast. You gota know this goin into any Model A project. Just talk with any Model A owner. That's assuming they can still hear you. I think Don has the right idea, turn up the sterio.

people,----- how fast were these cars designed to go originally? could the fact that we`re driving them 3 times faster have anything to do with increased wind noise? just a thought.

I get a lot of wind noise in my roadster-- I think that it is just the wind flying over the top of the windshield

I had a 31 A 5 window. Wind noise was terrible!!! Now with the 30 truck, I had 27 louvers punched in it, upside down & backwards. I will get a picture soon. Not sure about the noise now, as it is still sitting in the shop.

Dixie, sun visors in general generate a lot of windnoise. I know the one on my 57 does. I hear that the 30 is not the hit of the household, so wind noise or not, it might be a moot point, because even if the wind noise goes away doesn't mean the car is here to stay!

Orphan you are so right, he's going to turkey rod more than likely want come home with it. O well its his to do with as he see's fit. But i think its a nice car, got everything fixed on it today ,had to replace all the throttle assembly had some kind of mickey mouse job on it. I took it out for a ride an it drives great, can't figure out what the problem is.

O yea everybody the wind noise is just coming from around windshield an visor so guess he'll have to live with it.

If your friend plans on keeping the car flush mount the windshield. No wind noise and no leaks, if the car has AC he will most likely not open the windshield anyway, bugs are a B---- with the window open.
