I got my November issue of Streetscene today. While looking at the events for next year I don't see any listing for the Milwaukee nationals. Does anyone know if this show has been dropped? Seems like they would have given it more than two years to take off. Also seems like they should have tried to get the Chicagoland speedway for that show as it is more centrally located. Would rather have seen the NSRA there instead of Goodguys.

There's nothing on the website either or for the month of July for that matter. That would stink if my area lost that show too as we already lost Goodguys to Madison

The event has been cancelled. My wife and I was talking to Mike Chrispyn (NSRA event director for Milwaukee)at the Kalamazoo. He told us that Milwaukee could care less if the event stayed or left. No support from the city.He said the city basically only cares about beer and baseball .Go figure. My take on It was ;NSRA needs the support from us rodders and the support from the city to make things work.

I can't speak to the NSRA, but I know from experience, when attempting to put on a major car event, you really do need the support of the local community, plus the rodding community. Without that support, the event has little hope for success. Althugh I have never been to the Milwaukee event,, it's sad that they chose to fold.

Unfortunatly for all of us, most of the reports are true about lack of community support. We set up as vendors there this year knowing that we probably wouldn't come out ahead but we wanted to support a national event in our state. Hats off to some of the local car clubs in the area and our state NSRA rep, Brian Derge, they worked their tails off promoting the show. It's sad when we heard comments from locals on how they knew there was a pool and spa show at the other end of the fairgrounds but they had no idea why all the streetrods were in town. There is a very large number of streetrods in a 100 mile radius of Milwaukee, on that weekend there were also 12-14 other shows in the same area. We had a great time while there and tried to do our part, to bad it's history now.
